Alison Farina
Alison Farina – Artistic Director and founder of Butterfly Psyche Theatre

Alison Farina is a Bath-based theatre-maker, practitioner and playwright. She is founder and Artistic Director of Butterfly Psyche Theatre and an Associate Director at The Rondo Theatre. Her practice focuses on new writing, heritage, family theatre and theatre with a social conscience.

Alison has worked with Dyslexia Action, The Rondo Theatre, Theatre Bath and Trowbridge Arts giving theatre and storytelling workshops for adults and young people and has been working with Wiltshire Libraries on their Moving Words project, bringing literature and stories to life for residents in Care Homes around Wiltshire.

After her work with Wiltshire Libraries, Alison created a spin-off project called Words Alive! for Bath and North East Somerset. Through funding from Bath and North East Somerset Council’s 1 Year Arts Development Funding,  she is now delivering the project throughout 2015-16 in Care Homes and Community Organisations within Bath and the surrounding areas.

Alison’s work has been performed on the Isle of Man, Leeds, Bristol, London, Whitstable, Bath, and Reykjavik, Iceland.

Recent credits include: Return to WonderlandThe Tenant of Wildfell Hall and the 5-episode interactive Twitter script Temple Tales for Leeds Museum, where she is working again in 2015 on the new Visitors’ Tour Script for Temple Newsam House .

In 2014 Alison was shortlisted for the Old Vic, New Voices TS Elliot Commission and the Salisbury Playhouse’s 2014 ‘Original Drama’ call-out.
